Malware / Adware infections
Some of you may be exposed to malware / adware infections.

If you are experiencing any of the following symptoms then your computer may be infected:

- unwanted ads popping up at random locations, especially when opening new browser windows or tabs;
- warning messages popping up promoting download or upgrade of flash/media player or some other browser plugin;
- warning messages popping up stating your system is infected by a virus AND promoting downloads for free virus scan;
- all/some adverts on a site get replaced by other (unusual) adverts;
- web page layouts "fall apart".

Please note, that some adwares activate only if you visit a specific site (youtube, facebook, gmail etc.).

What do they do?

Usually, they inject malicious scripts into all pages you visit. That's why they can cause load errors when you start a FlyOrDie game.
Theoretically, they could collect mouse movement and key log data and send them to a server so they can steal logins/passwords. Usually, they just insert ads into the page you visit or replace them.

How did I get infected?

Your computer can get infected via all means viruses spread (by visiting malicious websites that exploit some vulnerability or opening e-mail attachments), however, the most common way is a Trojan:
- You install something catchy (like a media player, video codec, image enhancer etc.) that installs the adware alongside itself.
- You install a browser extension/add-on/toolbar that offers some fancy feature but it also contains a hidden adware.

How to get rid of them?

- remove/disable all browser extensions / add-ons / toolbars until you find the one responsible
- remove suspicious applications from your computer

As of today, the top 3 adware infections we detected among FlyOrDie users are:

Because we think you should take Malware/Adware infections more seriously, from now on, you will get a warning message from the server if we detect suspicious/interfering code in your browser. The message will link to this forum thread.

This feature will work only if you login to the [url=
http://forum.flyordie.com/thread.jsp?forum=2&thread=126954
]HTML5 version of the games
/url] using an established nickname (=no guests/new registrants).

If you get the warning message then we are quite sure that
your computer is actually infected
.

However, if you don't get any warnings, your computer still might be infected.

Also, we are not an antivirus site, so we can't remove any Malwares/Adwares for you.
There are a lot of known antivirus sites that offer free/trial versions of their product. For instance, according to [url=

/url] Malwarebytes seems to be a good choice to start with, but we haven't try it. You are welcome to share your experience here, which tool helped you to remove malware.

I thought i'd post this as some may now need more precautions than 1st thought on this

http://www.itv.com/news/update/2014-06-02/how-to-find-out-if-your-computer-has-been-infected-by/

This is mainly for UK people but UK's ITV News have already said its also happened elsewhere and one company already have lost ''£100,000'' because of someone opening a email and they apparently lost that amount in just 3 seconds

Plus the sound of this malware sounds properly massive and has been indicated by some officials as almost being totally unable to wipe out and so basically in short if you get infected and you have NO SECURITY PROTECTION whatsoever you'll soon be hacked and you'll eventually from my view be ending up to your local PC store to buy a new laptop or other device

Please make sure EVERYONE that you do now have some sort of security in place and some are even saying when checking mail (hotmail gmail etc) make sure you know who its from before opening as that simple error could also quickly get you into problems and get you infected

Basingstoke
The malware is becoming quite nuisance i hope it's gone permanently soon..
Even myself have come across problems I've even had to use my OneKey Recovery button to get my system back up and running and though I had some security on my laptop it wasnt enough

Google Chrome constantly fails to start now and has to be run as ''Run as administrator'' for it to even work and load correctly otherwise it don't work

It seems as if the internet lately is being attacked by more and more and just more of malware and even adware can cause you problems once you have it it slowly but surely gives you hassle and problems and eventually slows down your laptop or PC

So so annoying
Hello when i open some webpages my pc automatically starts to download an archive and it does that everytime i open it, it usually happens with the gambling page william hill
I experience the same notification from your website, but Windows 10 is not giving me any warning, maybe The windows anti- virus have already taken cared of it. Anyway Windows 10 is fully equiped with the latest anti-virus. Anyway thanks for the information.

   Regarding the malware and adware, I think an article regarding security is a must know to everynone. The article explicitly and strictly says that don't open notices,mails,advertisements and invitation without URL HTTPS. Normally URL address are HTTP only, this are not secured website and dont give any personal or qualified information. The " S" in the HTTPS connotes security meaning this web are trustworthy. Hope this information will help you.
