Why is the Crawford Rule - a standard rule in Backgammon for Match Play - not implemented? It would certainly stop those players who double on the first throw of a one point game just in the hope of getting the favoured dice like the repeated doubles for the same player that happens far too often. If these players really want to play with a doubling cube they can still do so - they just have to play games that require more than one point to win. Although that would mean that the double for the sake of it idea would not bring the rewards it does.
