Unable to Sign In for Tournament

Dear Moderators:

I was waiting for the start of the curling tournament a few minutes ago when the moderator sent me a message that I must remove my avatar, that he had removed it once and if I put it back again I would be banned.  Apparently, I have already been banned.  My avatar was an image of the Confederate Battle Flag and I have used it here off and on for almost 10 years with no complaints.  It is meant to be a salute to Confederate Soldiers, as mentioned by my message on my profile.  I did not realize that the avatar had been taken down once by a moderator as I have not checked my e-mail recently.

I apologize for any offense I have caused and request immediate reinstatement.  The avatar will not return.

10 years and so what? Over 10 years things change, also paradigms about our historical and cultural background, including the culture of racial segregation and oppression the mentioned flag represents.

This pic may be absolutely fine with most players but if someone finds it offensive, it has to be taken down. I bet some people wouldn't care if I had a pornographic image as my pic, but I can think of people that would be absolutely not ok with that and that must be respected.
