It would be much harder to write the program to NOT be random than to write it to be fair/random. And there is no motivation for them to be not random. You just had bad luck.
Hello, the program is to setlle low rankings, not to be an "honnest" random. How come people with more than 10.000 games are still 200-400 ? I don't think they are that bad players. Now if they had to be given truly their points, they would be so much "ahead" they wouldn't play with newcomers because of the points you lose playing against a lower opponent. The program is settle to make you stay around a certain ranking and is not based on skills. It's a definite choice by the company.
