Koo Koo Kachoo may have his own account of this but.... I sent a nail thief up the coast to get a monster count at North Port. Seeing that we were close to a milestone, I launched the ss Baldor. With a large supply of clicks and of potions Baldor set to battling. No sooner had he killed 30 of the horrendous beasts than he saw a wondrous site in the distance. It was the ss KooKoo. Together the two mighty ships relentlessly pounded the coast. Quickly the count fell below 136,000 and down to about 135,980. It was a glorious battle! Today was a good day to die! If Td sends his fighter and Jason sends his, then along with the mighty Phoenix and the mighty Monty we will get this port cleared!

ok, so strength just finished his first full trip to north port. when we first started fighting there (recently... as in after we finished clearing north of market), he killed a few to see how it felt. but since then, he's been busy on larki collecting ingredients. anyway, today i said to thomas in chat that strength was gonna make a trip. he was holding his ballast, and still had just under 50kg of extra space in pack... translating into room for about 160 nubs. so i said i'd fight til one of three conditions... til i fill my pack, til i die, or til i fall asleep. well, i'm awake to write this. and i didn't die. now i'm back on larki, ready to put my 186 nubs into the larki market, for my builder to buy and store. so how on earth did 186 nubs come from the space of about 160? guess that extra prayer wheel and miracle satchel weren't needed. and all the mobilidoxins that took up space... ya, they got used up. most aquas also got used. and a few mana potions also randomly disappeared on overlods. so i guess i had more space than i thought. point being... 186 more beasties in the north are gone. and what did it cost? maybe an extra 30 clicks over the bunch of them... for leaving and re-entering the port... for healing purposes. and i used up 23 MD's, yet i gained 51 RD's, so i don't think that was a bad deal at all. hope to see many of you up at north port from time to time. happy clicking all. --jason

Okay, enough fooling around, time for serious firepower! Catilian lost a battle and went back to Larki. It turned out to be a good chance for a boat upgrade. So in his new lvl3 boat he set off to North Port. He arrived to find 131,029 monsters waiting to die at his sword. 500 clicks later, over 60 of them are floating face up. The Contest!! Monster killing is fun, but it is more fun with comrads in arms. In a friendly spirit, Big Boo and Catilian each set out for 100 North Port Kills. Catilian and Boo ran neck and neck but due to some ill-advised risks on my part, Catilian went home 3 times to Boo's once. When Big Boo finished 100 kills Catilian had just 88, so Big Boo wins the day!!. 214 splats-Talitu I am sure the recent call to arms for the North TA Square will be answered by a few and more. Good. However, the Hungarian map for TA shows only a pub at the North Port square, the following square-a casino and one building on the adjacent square. Even if 'our' TA North Port area has more buildings(?)..it's still not very much for our builders to work on. Perhaps we should muster more troops to try and open the North Port square before the last 2 buildings South are completed. ~esme
I suppose you are right, D. But I wonder what all the fighters who make a living from selling magic nubs are going to do? (Assuming nobody will sell our finite supply of nubs to the General store).Collecting nails to sell will shortly be curtailed so unless one is a digger who can sell ore putty to the General Store or a criminal,... a lot of life styles are shortly going to ,um, radically change? ~esme ;)
Esme, I don't believe we require more than 800,000 nubs to finish all the buildings left on TA. Sure nubs are finite, but there are 7 million monsters left. In Hungary, 6 million nubs went into building the table and the altar. We have neither of those, so our best information says that we do not need all of our nubs. Basically, people will sell their nubs in the store until we find another building.

Here is an idea for conquering North Port: We set up an Executioner in its own square on TA. People can load up on flasks and then ship out! :d
ya, i thought about that too... would be useful. the only problem is that it takes so many clicks to collect things even when there's only the one monster on the square (as i've seen from getting a few extra antigravs so my monstalogist can get his boots). oh, and we might as well put up the mirrormonster too, for the higher lvl char's. of course, it's probably just as easy for some high lvl fighters (like strength) to fight with recoveries along north path, then use all the collected md's up at north port... anyway, do we have a square preference? south port? south of telegate? --jason
This would not be for the purebred splat-machines like your fighters, it would be for all the mid to high level characters who really want to help clear north port, but who have an awful time there.

for all the pushing i was doing over the last few months for the north port... i will likely not be going up to fight at the port at all anymore, unless people really want to make a huge push to clear it. with the few of us who actually have been up there for "big pushes", it's just not worth it. you can find me down by the lake for now. --jason

Every litle bit helps though if you want to take a break from crossing the island. Its the bouncing back and forth from boat to land that wears me out up there.

I had Vetters anchor dropped for two days at North Port...didnt see many people. Took out about 200 splitting my time between characters. I'll send him back up...seeing other ships in the harbor inspires me to fight.

Less than a month if we get 20 committed fighters... I'm tired of hearing everyone say how hard it is fighting at the north port. It IS a little harder, granted, and not everyone's character is well suited for fighting there. But if you want the port cleared, stop coveting your place on the toplists and do something about it. In his second day at north port Catilian took out 146 monsters with his daily clicks. That is maybe a 14% loss of exp click if even that since I seem to get tougher monsters at north port. The click from the boat to the shore is divided by your boat number. North port is really not as click costly as it seems, especially if you have a high level boat.

i just did some quick math... over the last 10 days, we have cleared an average of about 1400 per day at the north port. at this rate, it'll take only 60 more days. if we can bump that up to 1600 per day, it'll only take 50 days... up to 2000 per day, and we're done in 40 days. unfortunately, the last 3 or 4 days haven't been as productive up here as the first week or so of this push... so if we're going to get back to 1500+ splat per day, we've got to be dedicated. i've done 1200 at north port in the first 10 days of this push, and will be getting 500-1000 more within the next week. let's get this port cleared! --jason

moonliter took out about 50, not much but you cant do much with 800 clicks and getting sent home several times. Sunstar plugged away at it for a few hours and did about 200 or more at a lvl 38 and still have 8000 clicks to go but I am pooped for the night! LOL! Count is now down to 17800 something or other to go. Folks are still up there splatting away. We keep this up and we might have it cleared by friday. :D Yeehaw!
