some java problem?
i was just playing, and winning, a snooker game a few minutes ago, and all the sudden, out of nowhere, instantly, a message took over the window with some warning about some security issue. my options were: restart later, or restart now. so, since i was in the middle of a game, i clicked restart later. but my game didn't come back.

now, after restarting my browser, i just get a blank warning message. literally, blank, there are no words. it just has the icon (an exclamation mark inside of a triangle) next to a blank area where it seems words ought to be.

what's the deal? if i lose the points in that game over this technical problem, then that is absolutely bogus.

just an update to elaborate on the problem:

i understand it would have been very helpful to include the whole, exact, original error message that i got. however, i was in the middle of a snooker game, and snooker games are timed, and i was trying to hurry back to my game.

i just rebooted my whole system, and i'm still getting the blank error message i described. (when it originally occurred during my game, it said something, but now, every time i try to log back in, it's blank).

i'm running iceweasel 11.0 (which is identical to firefox except that it's rebranded to exclude proprietary trademarks)

and i'm running a debian based linux system.

i have never, ever seen this problem before.

i suppose i could try to update my java software, icedtea, or whatever, but that is so extremely difficult on my system that i'd probably rather re-install the whole operating system from scratch. so i'm not sure i want to do that right now. hopefully i will get some response or it will somehow be fixed on flyordie's side. though if it does start working again and i don't know why, then i see no reason for it not to happen again, so i would prefer something be done (my end or flyordie's) so that i can have some assurance that this won't happen again.

and plus, here and now, i am formally requesting that if i lost points on that game, that those points be returned. it may seem like nothing, but in all fairness, that is what should happen.

easier said than done.

OS: crunchbang-10-20120207-i386.iso, fresh install with java installed in the welcome script.

sounds to me like one of the background adds took over your screen and possibly messed up your settings.
