Why am i forced to resign
I am relatively new to this site but I know how to play backgammon. Why am I forced to resign when there is still the possibility that I may not lose? If that's the case, then the game knows in advance what all future dice rolls will be, correct?
Good morning Gabaliciously,
No player is forced to resign, as you rightly said "until a game is over anything is possible", so never give up and go all the way... if you see that in any game your opponent encourages you to leave the game, then you should send an abuse report to the moderation team, as this behaviour goes against the rules of the game: 2.3. Encouraging your opponent to leave the game.

Best regards

Hi. Thanks so much for response. I may not be familiar with the site itself but during a game when the resignation button becomes active, I don't have the option of rolling the dice because none appear and there is no place to decline the resignation. The only thing active is the doubling cube. It has happened in various games when I was in a difficult position but not necessarily a losing one since one never knows what the dice will do. My roll could potentially put me in a better position and my opponent could roll dice that either put him in an unfavorable spot or improve mine. I hope that makes sense. The bottom line is whether the roll of the dice is predetermined by the computer.

So also when he doubles and doubles? There is no chance then- only give up or accept the double…
