Please let me explain why we sometimes recommend to temporarily deactivate a firewall for test purposes.
Its in order to determine whether a firewall blocks too much and therefore is the cause for connection problems.
Something similar applies to an antivirus software. Modern antivirus/antimalware software acts like an extra layer that sits between the base of the operating system and the apps and programs that run on it.
Since you have read FlyOrDie’s FAQs and probably some of our postings, you can try to stabilise your Internet connection by yourself.
However, your Internet Service Provider may also be able to help you improve the stability of your connection - and possibly will be able to
improve the latency a bit.
